The Artist Residency

Every residency has its requirements. Mine included a lifetime of creative work, following opportunities, tending to real life, and imagining there would be more room for my own art someday.

Well, “someday” now has an address. I created the Art Trekker Artist Residency—at my personal residence, making me quite literally the artist in residence. There’s some levity in that. But the commitment behind it is real.

The residency is my way of giving art sustained attention: time to experiment, follow ideas, learn new processes, work across materials, change direction, get curious, and make things without needing to know exactly where they’re headed.

My life has shaped how I see, what I notice, and what I bring into the studio now. This is simply the chapter where I make more room for the art itself.

There is no predetermined body of work and no fixed ending. The point is to keep making, keep looking, and see what begins to emerge over time.

Wayfinder, my monthly printed publication, is one way I share the trail as I go—experiments, discoveries, fragments, questions, and work still finding its form.
