On Keeping a Small Studio

My studio is the size of a parking space. There is room for one easel, one stool, and a stack of paper that grows or shrinks depending on the season.
I used to think I needed more room. Now I think the room is the teacher — it tells me what to paint and how big it can be.
If you are working from a corner of a kitchen or a folding table at the foot of a bed, take heart. The best pictures I have made were painted under a window the size of a postcard.
